A gold tooled volume bound only by the headband cores with missing ties.

This volume illustrates another later example of the increasingly popular style of binding the textblock to the vellum by lacing in the headband cores only. The style is very much akin to later case-bound books (with the pastedown in both structures forming a large part of the attachment between textblock and cover).
