Gold tooled binding with over-all fleur-de-lis pattern and broken fore-edge ties.

This volume, very nicely tooled all-over in a pattern of fleur-de-lis, illustrates a later, quick application of limp vellum, with only the endband cores laced through the cover. The other supports have been either cut flush to the joint (as was often done) or pasted down against the inside of the vellum.
