This modern design binding is based on 16th century pierced vellum techniques. Here Reid-Cunningham has lined the covers of his traditional limp-vellum structure with colored silk to back the piercing and create both a wholly modern and very retrospective limp vellum design. Reid-Cunningham is one of many design binders who has played with the limp vellum form, a continuation of the private press's revitalization of the style.
