Retrospective limp-vellum binding with centerpiece tooling.

The Belgian book binder Charles De Samblanx created this binding in an early style. It is an example of the increase in the limp vellum style's use in period and restoration bindings that began at the turn of the 20th century. After the focus on the form given by the private press movement, many binders began to imitate earlier limp-vellum styles for fine binding work.
