13. Silver Tooled Dutch Almanac

Large quarto limp vellum binding on two supports, tooled in silver with the arms of dutch provinces.
We see little change in the limp vellum structure as we enter the 18th century. This volume is laced through on just the two central supports, rather than the normal attachment at the headbands. The silver tooling is extensive and incorporates several provincial coats of arms along the top of the front cover. It seems unlikely that a yearly almanac would have been issued in silver tooling, and this binding may be a later commission by a collector.
